Gina Ferraro Returns To iHeart Dayton
• iHeartMedia’s WZDA (New Country 103.9)/Dayton, OH announced the addition of market veteran Gina Ferraro to anchor the midday show, weekdays from 10am-3pm.
“We’re really excited to add Gina to the station’s line-up of The Bobby Bones Show, After Midnight with Granger Smith, Wazz in the afternoon, and Kasper at night,” said Jeff Stevens, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Dayton. “We know how involved Gina will be in the community and how much fun she’ll be while you listen to her during the day.” Scott Sands, Area SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia OH & WV, commented, “Gina is a talent ready to engage listeners both on the air and through an expanding social media presence on day one. Her energy and personality will really shine in Dayton.”
Ferraro most recently did middays on Cumulus AC WRRM (Warm 98.5)/Cincinnati, but she’s already a well-known presence in the Dayton market — and in the iHeart building — thanks to two earlier runs in mornings on Hot AC WMMX (Mix 107.7) and a stint as PD of Top 40 WCHD (Channel 99.9) sandwiched in between. Earlier in her career, Ferraro worked in Chicago as a traffic reporter and afternoon co-host for WUSN (US99) and WIND-AM (AM 560 The Answer), and evening traffic anchor for 720 WGN Radio.
“I used to listen to Country music in the car with my mom growing up and that really started my love for Country music,” Ferraro said. “The lyrics of Country songs are really hard to match and have touched my soul through the years.”
