iHeart NH: Now With Less Moore
• RAMP has learned that iHeartMedia has been quietly making some personnel cuts this week… among the most prominent names we’ve heard is Tim Moore, VP of Programming for iHeartMedia New Hampshire for the past decade, who exited on Monday, when he was informed that his position had been eliminated.
And what a comprehensive position it was — Moore was PD of WHEB, WERZ (Z107), WTBU (95-3 The Bull), WQSO (NewsRadio 96-7) and WPKX-AM (FOX Sports 930)/Portsmouth, NH and WGIR-FM (Rock 01) and WGIR-AM (NewsRadio 610)/Manchester. In his not-so-spare time Moore was also popular WHEB afternoon personality “T-Bone,” and oversaw the operation of the NH News Network and The Buzz Network, feeding the No. 1-rated Greg & The Morning Buzz to both Rock stations and several non-iHeart affiliates. Oh, and he was also handling promotional and digital duties and production for the cluster.
Moore was philosophical about his unexpected exit, as he said, “Everyone is talking about the ‘metaverse,’ but our programming, promotional and digital staff in New Hampshire has been ‘virtual’ for some time, so I guess we’re ahead of the curve! I want to thank Jon Zellner, Rob Anthony, Market President Joe Graham and Jeff Pierce for giving me the opportunity to lead these amazing stations. Thanks also to Division President Nick Gnau and Regional President Sean Davey for putting up with me!”
Moore added, “After nearly a decade of commuting from Portland, Maine to New Hampshire and being on-call 24/7/365, I’m looking forward to playing some golf and consuming some adult beverages. I’m grateful to the amazing staff I had the privilege of working with, including the hands-down funniest morning show on the planet, Greg & The Morning Buzz. We left it all on the field every single day — and I’m proud of the No. 1 ratings and revenue achieved by this team!”
Not exactly your textbook radio “job-hopper,” prior to joining iHeartMedia a decade ago, Moore enjoyed a 30-year radio run in Maine, most notably 21 years at the helm of Cumulus Top 40 WJBQ (Q97.9) & AC WHOM/Portland until May 2012. Moore is now exploring new opportunities and can be reached at timgrantmoore@gmail.com or 207-329-6581.
