JVC Launches ‘The New FLY 103.1’/Orlando
• Just as we had teased last week, JVC Broadcasting Orlando today formally flipped former Country WOTW (103.1 The Wolf) to WFYY (The New FLY 103.1), “Orlando’s Hottest Hit Music,” playing the biggest hits across the Rhythmic Pop, Hip Hop, & R&B spectrum, and neatly filling the hole created with the sale of CMG Rhythmic WPYO (Power 95.3) to SBS earlier this year.
When asked about the decision to launch the New FLY 103.1, JVC Florida Director of Programming Stevie DeMann, already a seasoned pro in the realm of Rhythmic Top 40, said, “FLY 103.1 is a direct result of listening to radio consumers in Central Florida. There is a clear need for a new music station in Central Florida that reflects this diverse market, plays all the hottest music, is pop culture-driven, and gives away the hottest prizes!”
“I’m thrilled that we are debuting a locally researched, locally programmed, and live and local radio station for Orlando and Central Florida,” says JVC Executive Shane Reeve. “I’m proud to watch Stevie and our entire team navigate FLY 103.1 to new heights. We have the right people in place to present a new, high energy, personality driven radio station to the Orlando audience.”
JVC CEO John Caracciolo remarked, “Radio in Orlando and across the country needs a station like FLY 103.1 — it’s fresh, exciting, and of course, local. JVC’s mission is to make radio fun, engaging, and a resource for the community. I’m proud that our teams do a great job doing that every day. I’m excited to see the success of FLY 103.1 using our local blueprint — being a trusted choice for our listeners and providing great results for our clients.”
FLY 103.1 will introduce a live and local airstaff after it finishes powering through its introductory 10,000 songs in a row, commercial-free from Post Malone, Doja Cat, Drake, Ariana Grande, Jack Harlow, etc.
