Patrick Named APD/PM Drive, KYGO/Denver
• Bonneville Country KYGO/Denver has filled its afternoon drive vacancy with the talents of format veteran Shawn Patrick, who will drive Denver home starting Monday, August 29. Patrick, who will also handle APD duties, succeeds former KYGO pm driver Paul Donovan, who recently exited after six years.
In making the announcement, KYGO PD Brian Michel said, “We are more than thrilled to bring Shawn to KYGO. He’s a gifted programmer, an incredible entertainer and a Colorado native! Most importantly, he’s dedicated to serving the community he grew up in.”
Patrick most recently programmed iHeartMedia Country duo KCCY (Y96.9)/Colorado Springs and KXGB (Big 97.9)/Ft. Collins, CO until the end of July. He originally tracked afternoons on KCCY from 2014-18 while programming Big 97.9/Ft. Collins and 100.7 KOLT-FM/Cheyenne, WY. Patrick was upped to fulltime status on KCCY in 2018 and awarded APD stripes. In 2019 he was elevated to PD, and last year was added to the iHeartCountry national air talent group. From 2010-2014 Patrick filled multiple roles at Townsquare Media’s Country KUAD and Alternative KMAX (94.3 The X)/Ft. Collins.
Patrick shared his own good news in a Facebook post that reads, in part, “I talked to a bunch of people about possibilities for my future, but there was one that just stood out above the rest — the opportunity to stay home in Colorado, to be on one of the most legendary radio stations in world, to work for a company that believes in people first, and to collaborate with some awesome folks. I’m excited to announce that starting Monday The Shawn Patrick Show begins a new era on 98.5 KYGO — I hope you’ll join me as we create magic throughout Colorado for many years to come!”
