Beasley/Audacy Vegas Swap Shop

• Beasley Media Group and Audacy announced a proposed “asset exchange agreement,” a.k.a. station swap — in Las Vegas — Beasley will acquire Alternative KXTE (ALT 107.5) from Audacy, which, in turn, is giving Beasley Talk outlet KDWN-AM 720 and its companion FM translator at 101.5.

The pending acquisition of KXTE also means Beasley acquires the talents of longtime Vegas-based syndicated morning personalities Dave & Mahoney, who will remain safely ensconced in their weekday morning spot on KXTE under the new ownership.

Commenting on the proposed transaction, Beasley CEO Caroline Beasley remarked, “Throughout Beasley Broadcast Group’s 61-year history, we have actively managed our station portfolio with the goal of serving the communities where we operate with the best local programming and brands, diversifying our operations, managing risk and improving financial results. The agreement to exchange KDWN-AM (and FM translator) for KXTE-FM addresses all of these strategic objectives and upon completion, will complement our Las Vegas market presence and content with five strong signals in the market.”

Pending the usual amount of FCC and other regulatory approval and whatnot, the transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
