The Programming Dept.: Mud & Tully

• Stay tuned for the official announcement, but RAMP has learned that Entercom Classic Rock WCMF/Rochester, NY has hired Michael “Mud” Gross as its new Program Director, effective May 15. Gross (left) is a talented format vet, having most recently programmed iHeartMedia Classic Rock WBGG (Big 105.9)/Miami until a year ago. Before that he spent nearly a decade at the controls of sister WNRQ (105.9 The Rock)/Nashville. Earlier in his career, Mud programmed WARO/Fort Myers-Naples, FL and he did mornings on WDIZ/Orlando, WPNT/St. Louis and WHVY/Baltimore.

In a staff memo announcing Gross’ impending arrival, Bob Barnett, VP of Programming for Entercom Rochester said, “I’m thrilled to roll out the rock-n-roll welcome mat for ‘Mud’ as he joins the WCMF/Entercom team in Rochester!” Gross replaces Chris Crowley, who, as we recently reported, earned a transfer to the PD post at Classic Rock sister KGON/Portland, OR.
