94WIP/Philly Launches New Midday Show
• Audacy Sports-Talk WIP-FM (SportsRadio 94WIP)/Philadelphia announced the impending launch of new midday show that combines the talents of NFL veteran Hugh Douglas and Joe Giglio, who will move up from nights. The newly minted duo will be heard weekdays from 10am-2pm ET, one week following the conclusion of the Philadelphia Eagles’ season.
Douglas (left) is a former NFL Pro Bowl defensive end who played 10 years for the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars. He’s also a former co-host on WIP, a full-time analyst on ESPN2’s Numbers Never Lie and an analyst on various ESPN shows.
Giglio (right) broke into the industry in 2012 after winning the “Fantasy Phenom” contest on sister WFAN/New York. A year later, Giglio joined WIP as a fill-in host, and since 2017 has done nights and hosted Phillies’ pre- and post-game shows. Giglio has also been a host on BetQL Daily, weekdays from 9a-noon ET on the BetQL Network.
“Few people have a deeper connection to the Philadelphia sports audience than Eagles legend Hugh Douglas, and we’re thrilled to bring him back to WIP,” said Brand Manager Rod Lakin. “Joe Giglio has been a staple in evenings for WIP, and we’re very excited to see his role expand in middays. It’s an incredible opportunity to add two extremely talented hosts to the new WIP weekday lineup during one of the most exciting periods in Philadelphia sports history.”
WIP previously announced that with the upcoming retirement of station vet veteran Angelo Cataldi, current midday duo Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie will move to mornings, alongside longtime morning anchor Rhea Hughes and producer James Seltzer. Jon Marks and Ike Reese remain in afternoon drive, and the station is now seeking a new night show host.
