Coslov Elevated At Republic & Mercury
• Republic Records has promoted Alex Coslov to Executive Vice President of Marketing Strategy, Republic Records & Head of Marketing, Mercury Records. In this dual role, the New York-based Coslov continues to lead marketing for releases by artists including Morgan Wallen [Big Loud], Glass Animals, Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder, Greta Van Fleet, Florence + The Machine, Noah Kahan, James Blake, Yung Gravy and more.
The announcement of Coslov’s elevation was made jointly by Republic Records’ Co-President Jim Roppo and Mercury Records President Tyler Arnold. Roppo commented, “Alex intimately understands his artists at a core level. He speaks their language and immerses himself in their respective worlds for every single release. This is his superpower. By doing so, he develops innovative campaigns that reflect their identities and, simultaneously, engage audiences from a fresh perspective. It’s an honor to announce his promotion.” Arnold added, “We are thrilled to officially welcome Alex to the Mercury family. He is one of the most innovative and forward-thinking executives in our industry and has already played an integral role in the success of our artists’ careers. We cannot wait to shape this next chapter of Mercury Records together.”
Coslov has served as SVP of Marketing Strategy since 2021. He joined Republic Records in 2017 as VP of Marketing Strategy and has since become a 4x CLIO Award winner. Earlier stops include Ultra Music and SESAC, and he launched his career with internships at Epic Records and Red Light Management.
“When people ask what sets Republic apart, the answer is pretty simple — Monte, Avery, Wendy and Jim are the true Republic difference,” Coslov said. “Monte and Avery know how to win better than anyone. Jim is my mentor, and it’s a privilege to call him that. I value his leadership, counsel, and knowledge over anyone. Tyler and Ben are two of the smartest, most accomplished, and thoughtful executives I have ever worked with. We have been close collaborators for five years now and I can’t wait for this next chapter building Mercury Records together.”
