Jayn Reclaims Middays At KNRK/Portland
• Audacy just announced Jayn as the new midday talent on KNRK (94/7 Alternative Portland)/Portland, OR, weekdays from noon-2pm PT, beginning April 3. Jayn will retain her current duties as afternoon host and Music Supervisor for KLLC (Alice @ 97.3) and Music Supervisor of KITS (105.3 Dave FM)/San Francisco.
The remote gig marks a return to the KNRK airwaves for Jayn, who notably spent eight years there as APD/MD and midday talent until moving to San Francisco in 2004.
“What a thrill it is to have one of America’s top air talents rejoin the 94/7 team,” said Mark Hamilton, Brand Manager, 94/7 Alternative Portland. “Jayn was part of the original lineup from 1995 to 2003. Her passion for Alternative music, Portland and radio puts the icing on the 94/7 cake. Welcome back, Jayn!”
Jayn began her radio career writing news for radio as a summer intern in the gallery of the House of Representatives. Once back in Reno where she went to college, she worked at several stations before joining KRZQ, doing nights and later, mornings. After a stint in mornings at the late KEDJ (The Edge)/Phoenix, she moved to sister KNRK for eight years. Jayn joined Alice @ 97.3/San Francisco in 2004 and hosted middays from 2006 until 2014, when she moved to afternoons. In January 2020, she was named Music Supervisor of KITS (the now former ALT 105.3), and named Music Supervisor of the rebranded 105.3 Dave FM in October 2021.
Jayn remarked, “To be coming back to the incredible Portland team is beyond surreal, and I am beyond thrilled. Endless thanks and gratitude to Mark Hamilton, Kim Martinez, Stacey Kauffman, Jeff Sottolano, and Michael Martin.”
