Brody Smith Named Producer, ‘Katie & Company’
• Audacy has named radio pro Brody Smith as the Nashville-based producer for the company’s national Country show Katie & Company, hosted by Katie Neal (right).
“I feel like I manifested this opportunity,” says Smith. “I’ve enjoyed working with clients on audio and video podcasts but also have a passion for Country radio… as long as I didn’t have to wake up at 4am… Two days later, this opportunity encompassing both loves revealed itself!”
Smith began his 24-year radio career in college, “accidentally” being in the right place (or studio) at the right time. That experience resulted in early stops at KC101/New Haven and WQGN/New London. Raleigh has been the epicenter for most of Smith’s career — he originally spent nine years at iHeartMedia Top 40 WDCG (G105), followed by a stint as PD of Top 40 sister WLDI (WiLD 95.5)/West Palm Beach from 2012-2015. He then returned to G105 for a two-year run as Executive Producer/co-host of Bob & the Showgram before accepting the transfer to KSNE (Sunny 106.5)/Las Vegas as APD/afternoons in May 2018. More recently Smith worked at Country WKJO/Smithfield-Raleigh until its sale last fall to Curtis Media Group and flip to Classic Hits.
