Jay Michaels Free To Navigate
• RAMP has confirmed that Jay Michaels is resigning his post as OM of Cumulus Media’s Shreveport, AL group, effective Tuesday, May 9. Michaels is also PD of Hot AC KQHN (Q97.3), and PD of KRMD (Country 101.1 FM) and AC KRMD-AM/K264AS (Lite Rock 100.7), and does the morning show on Q97.3.
In his not-so-spare time Michaels also lends his dulcet tones to middays on Top 40 sister WLTO (Hot 102.5)/Lexington, KY, noon-6pm on AC KQFC (Magic 97.9)/Boise, ID and nights on Westwood One’s national AC format.
Michaels arrived in Shreveport in Jan. 2019 as PD of Q97.3, and was elevated to the PM post that July. The move marked a return to the Cumulus family for Michaels, who had previously spent six years with Cumulus Indianapolis as PD of Classic Hits WJJK and former Top 40 WYRG (Energy 93.9) — now WNDX (93.9X) until mid-2018. Earlier in his career Michaels did mornings at Midwest Communications’ Top 40 WMGI (100.7 Mix FM)/Terre Haute, IN. Previous stops include KQMV (MOViN 92.5)/Seattle, WSTO (Hot 96) and WIKY/Evansville, INand Metro Networks in Louisville.
