Pros In Motion
• Bell Media Alternative CIMX (89X)/Windsor-Detroit announced a newly revised weekday on-air line-up that now leads off with the dulcet tones of 10-year station vet Mark McKenzie, who is now hosting The Morning X. McKenzie, who also assumes MD responsibilities, most recently did nights on 89X and was the only fulltime survivor of an early April restructuring that resulted in the exit of Cal and Co. morning host Cal Cagno and his co-host Gillian Reilly, midday personality Phil “PK” Kukawinski and afternoon talent Reed Petitpren.
The other new additions to the 89X airstaff include J Stevens (ex-CKUE/Windsor) in middays, Phat Matt from 3-7 and Zak rolling from 7-midnight. Fortunately, Phatt Matt and Zak didn’t have to ask for directions to their new gigs, since they crossed the hall from Triple A sister CIDR (93.9 The River).
• Entercom Country KSON/San Diego has acquired the talents of a couple of familiar market vets for part-time/fill-in work — please welcome Hula Ramos and Dorothy Tran, both veterans of CBS Radio Top 40 KEGY (Energy 103.7). Ramos is the former Executive Producer of The AJ Show, and Dorothy was the show’s former co-host.
“We are super excited to have such seasoned talent join our team at KSON,” said Kevin Callahan, OM of Entercom San Diego. “Additions like this make a superior team even stronger. Hula and Dorothy both know and love San Diego, and that will come through to listeners of KSON.”
