Foxx Named Talk PD, iHeart San Antonio/Austin
• iHeartMedia has named Terry Foxx as Director of Talk Programming for San Antonio & Austin, effective immediately. In his new role Foxx will be responsible for News Radio 1200 WOAI & KTKR-AM (Ticket 760)/San Antonio, and KVET-AM (AM 1300 The Zone)/Austin, the flagship broadcast partners for the San Antonio Spurs, University of Texas and The Joe Pags Show, among others.
Foxx will report to Jason McCollim, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia San Antonio & Austin, who remarked, “In Terry Foxx, we’ve found more than an expert; we’ve embraced a true team player who values respect as deeply as we do. His commitment to bettering our processes is evident, but it’s his unique blend of diplomacy, empathy, and patience in every interaction that truly sets him apart. With Terry, it’s not just about work; it’s about building lasting relationships.”
Foxx joins iHeartMedia from NPR affiliate 90.5 KUT-FM/Austin at the University of Texas, where he has served as the Director of Programming & Audience since early 2022. Foxx earlier spent two years with Radio One Charlotte as Brand Manager of SportsRadio WFNZ-AM and Hot AC WLNK (Mix 107.9). Prior to his move to Charlotte, Foxx was Brand Manager of Audacy Sports-Talk WZGC (92.9 The Game)/Atlanta, which he helped launch in late 2012. Foxx previously launched Sports sister KDKA (93.7 The Fan)/Pittsburgh and programmed ESPN Radio in Bristol, CT. Earlier stops include ABC Radio Networks, KKDA/Dallas, WPLJ/New York and B96/Chicago. He began his career at KZFM/Corpus Christi, TX.
“I’m very excited to work with iHeartMedia and its group of stations in Austin and San Antonio, along with the great people that help make it successful,” Foxx said. “As a native Texan, I grew up listening to WOAI. I’d like to thank Jason McCollim, Chris Berry, Brian Gann and Brad Hardin for this incredible opportunity.”
