Sierra H. Augments With Valdez & Lynch
• Sierra H. Broadcasting Phoenix announces two major staff additions with the hire of two experienced market veterans — Eric Valdez joins the company as APD for Classic Hip Hop KZCE (101.1 The Bounce) and Rhythmic Oldies KAJM (Mega 104.3), and Lindsay Lynch returns to local radio as the newly named midday host on 101.1 The Bounce.
Valdez (left) most served as APD for Riviera Broadcasting’s crosstown Classic Hits KOAI (95.1 & 94.9 The WOW Factor). His 20+ years in the Valley of the Sun started in 1996, when he helped launch 103.9 KPTY (Arizona’s Party Station) as MD, alongside PD Rick Thomas. In the early ’90s, Valdez also worked the record label circuit and toured with national recording freestyle artist Stevie B. His 30-year career also includes stops at KYLD (Wild 94.9)/San Francisco, KSFM/Sacramento, and KKUU/Palm Springs.
Station owner Ken Brentlinger stated, “We are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Eric to our team. With his profound expertise and enthusiasm for radio, we are confident that he will elevate our stations to new levels of success.”
Valdez said, “I would like to thank our owner, Ken Brentlinger, GM Paul Holton and consultant Rick Thomas for this opportunity. I’m truly excited to have this new chapter that I’ve been wanting for a long while and can’t wait to work alongside the many talented personalities we have in our building.”
• Lynch (left) began her career in promotions at Clear Channel Phoenix in 2005 and quickly transitioned to producer for Johnjay and Rich on KZZP. In 2013, she was promoted to Executive Producer and co-host for Mathew Blades on AC sister KMXP (Mix 96.9). Lynch’s Phoenix radio run culminated with hosting the morning show on Riviera Broadcasting Rhythmic Hot AC KMVA (Hot 97.5/103.5). Now, after a seven-year hiatus, she’s back behind the mic.
Ken Brentlinger remarked, “We are delighted to welcome Lindsay to our radio family. Her positive and infectious energy will contribute to the success of The Bounce, and we can’t wait to see how she will make an impact in our building.”
Commenting on her welcome return to radio, Lynch said, “The radio bug has bit me again and I’m thrilled to be continuing my radio career in the city I adore, Phoenix. It’s an absolute dream to be playing the music that made me fall in love with radio back in the day. I’ve had to pinch myself! I’m happy to be working with such passionate humans in this cluster, including many legacy talents I have admired over the years in Phoenix radio.”
