Wanna Wake Up In Grand Rapids?
• There have been some drivetime changes at Cumulus Top 40 WHTS (105.3 Hot FM)/Grand Rapids, MI, starting with the announcement that Jackie Green, co-host of the popular Gray & Green morning show alongside Rachael Gray, was stepping down from morning radio to focus on her mental health.
As part of that mission, Green (left) has moved back to the afternoon shift that she hosted prior to teaming up with Gray in August 2019 to create the what was then billed as “the first and only morning radio show in West Michigan presented by two female hosts.”
In the interim, PD Rob Sparks has moved up from afternoons to co-host the rebranded Rachael Gray Show. “Jackie has contributed a lot to the success of the Gray & Green Show as well as Hot FM, but it takes a lot of strength to admit when you need help,” Sparks tells RAMP. “Jackie has realized she needs to make her mental health a priority and we support her. Fortunately, she’s staying with the station, moving to the afternoon drive.”
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Green said, “I’m grateful for employers who find value enough in me to keep me on air in a different capacity.”
Sparks is now actively looking to add someone new to The Rachael Gray Show on Hot FM. But first, please mentally answer these burning questions: 1) Do your stories entertain and make people laugh and smile? 2) Are you willing to live your life on-air and share it on social media? 3) Do you create social/digital content that engages the audience & grows listenership? 4) Do continuously plan & prep throughout the day? 5) Are you as dynamic in person at appearances & events as you are on air? 6) Will you quickly develop positive relationships with your co-hosts, our sales team, and your other station colleagues? 7) Are you willing to become an integral part of the West Michigan community, including philanthropic networking?
If you answered with a resounding YES, please apply online ASAP for the position marked FT MORNING SHOW TALENT. EOE.
