Daily Upped To Cumulus VP of Country
• Cumulus Media has appointed Travis Daily as Vice President of Country, where he will provide content counsel for the company’s 55 Country radio brands across America. He fills the position most recently held by Charlie Cook, who is leaving the company on May 31.
This is turning out to be a huge month for Daily, who was just named Brand and Content Manager for WKDF (103.3 Country) and WSM-FM (95.5 Nash Icon)/Nashville on May 1, after two years as PD of Country sister KUBL (93.3 The Bull)/Salt Lake City.
In making the announcement of Daily’s VP appointment, Cumulus Chief Content Officer Brian Philips said, “When Charlie Cook told me he was departing, I was faced with one of the tougher decisions of my career: who could I trust to lead and represent our vast fleet of important Country stations with the finesse and character that Charlie did? On every front, Travis rises to the demands. Fresh from a fast, stunning turnaround at KUBL, he has demonstrated the creative and executive skills and style that set him apart from the rest. A new era begins in Nashville.”
Daily was named PD of KUBL in December 2022, after serving as OM of Beasley’s Tampa Bay group and PD of Country WQYK. He previously spent 17 years with Clear Channel/iHeartMedia Tampa, notably launching Country WFUS (US103.5) in 2005, later rising to SVP of Programming for iHeart Tampa and Sarasota. Back in the day Daily was OM/PD/morning host at KCCY (Y96.9)/Pueblo-Colorado Springs, CO.
Daily remarked, “Storytelling is at the heart of every great Country song. As VP of Country, you’re not just shaping playlists; you are weaving narratives that resonate with listeners across Cumulus Media’s entire footprint of Country stations. Together with our talented programmers, we’ll harmonize tradition with innovation, ensuring that our stations remain a vibrant part of listeners’ lives. It’s an exciting time to be in Country music and, with the advancement of technology, we have almost unlimited ways to deliver content. I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead the Country stations for Cumulus from my new hometown of Nashville, where I’ll be working intensively with WKDF and WSM-FM.”
