Executive Action: Reisman, Brown
• Big promotion for Jeff Reisman, General Manager of Salem Media Group’s Chicago radio stations, who has been upped to Operational Vice President for Salem’s Radio Division, effective July 1. In this new role, Reisman will tack on additional oversight of the company’s Boston and Philadelphia radio markets. Reisman joined Salem in October of 2004 as General Sales Manager in Chicago. He was promoted to GM of the Chicago cluster — WIND (AM 560 the Answer) and WYLL (AM 1160 Hope For Your Life) in January of 2010. Earlier in his career Reisman earned valuable sales and management experience at CBS Radio, Bonneville International (now Hubbard), and Pioneer Press Newspapers.
In making the announcement, Allen Power, SVP of Salem’s Radio Division, said, “For more than a dozen years Jeff Reisman has proven himself as a problem-solving leader who has driven growth and innovation in Chicago. We’re excited to have him expand his leadership to Boston and Philadelphia, and are confident he will quickly have a positive impact helping our GMs and their teams succeed and grow in those two markets.” Salem Radio Group owns and/or operates 118 radio stations and is the largest commercial U.S. radio broadcasting company that provides Christian and conservative programming. Salem Radio Network (SRN) is home to Hugh Hewitt, Mike Gallagher, Dennis Prager, Michael Medved, Larry Elder, Joe Walsh and Eric Metaxas.
• Jim Brown has been hired by CBS Radio Philadelphia as Sales Manager of Talk Radio 1210 WPHT as well as local traffic ad sales for the cluster. Brown is a Philly native who has spent his entire media career in the local market, starting in 1983 as an Account Manager at KYW-TV. He later served as SVP & Director of Sales at Shadow Networks and was a founding partner at Traffic.com. Most recently, Brown spent 13 years across the street at Greater Media, Inc., where he held senior leadership roles at WJJZ, WMMR, WMGK, WBEN-FM & WPEN-FM.
