Remembering Kevin Kash
• We’ve lost another good one — we were saddened to hear that longtime radio pro Kevin Kash passed away on Wednesday, July 31 due to complications from kidney disease. Kash had been on a waiting list for a transplant, but he recently announced via Facebook that he was entering hospice care.
A native of Hagerstown, MD, Kash is probably best known for his 11-year run with Manning Media, including mornings and nights at Classic Hits WWEG (106.9 The Eagle)/Fredrick-Hagerstown, MD until two years ago, when his position was eliminated.
His earlier stops include WHVY (97 Underground)/Baltimore; WXZL (Rock 103.1)/Annapolis; the former WFQX (97.1 The Fox)/Delmarva; WOSC (95.9 The Coast)/Salisbury, DC101/Washington, and WIYY (98 Rock)/Baltimore. He also programmed XM’s The Boneyard. Most recently he was doing part-time at iHeartMedia Country WMZQ/Washington.
Dino D’Addario, Production Director at Cox Media Group Atlanta considered Kash his best friend and the brother he never had. In a heartfelt Facebook post, Dino noted, “We got thru break-ups & lost gigs. We shared each other’s happiness in marriages, better gigs, and enjoyed a lifetime of friendship and laughter. The lives of those you’ve touched are forever changed for the better. I know mine is. May your heart have peace. I love you, brother.”
Kash is survived by his wife, Sherry, daughter, Kerra, and son, Kevin, Jr. Plans for a Celebration of Life will be announced soon. Kevin’s many friends and colleagues have been rapidly filling his Facebook page with memories and condolences, and you are invited to do the same.
