iHeart Alaska Now Set On ‘Crash’ Course

• iHeartMedia has promoted Joe “Crash” Albrecht to Sr. Vice President of Programming for Alaska, with oversight of the company’s station groups in both Anchorage and Fairbanks, reporting to Jeff Hurley, EVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Alaska. Albrecht succeeds Mark Murphy, who is retiring after a successful 35+ year career.

Albrecht is a seasoned Alaska radio pro with over 35 years of experience, the past 25 as a member of the iHeart Alaska family, most recently serving as Program Director for News-Talk 650 KENI and Fox Sports affiliate KTZN-AM (550 The Zone), and PD/afternoons at Classic Rock KBFX (100.5 The Fox). Albrecht’s career began at Ingstad Broadcasting in Anchorage, and he has since been instrumental in shaping the market’s landscape.

“I’m thrilled to have ‘Crash’ step into this pivotal role,” said Kim Williams, Area President for iHeartMedia AK/HI. “He brings tremendous local market knowledge, a proven track record and an unmatched work ethic to the team. I’m confident Joe will lead these strong Alaskan markets to even greater heights.”

Albrecht commented, “I’m beyond excited to embark on this new chapter with iHeart Alaska.  Having started my career here in Anchorage over 35 years ago, it’s a full-circle moment. I look forward to working with the talented team here to take these longstanding, heritage brands to even greater success. I’m grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to get started.” Albrecht can be congratulated at joealbrecht@iheartmedia.com.
