Just Like You, Julian’s Been There
• Major market personality Julian, a.k.a. JulianOnTheRadio just finished producing and posting a unique video project titled I’ve Been There. Julian explained, “It’s basically a video short to provide a little bit more insight as to who I am, and what I’ve done. Nothing too deep, but it gives people a vibe of my character along with a little bit of what I’ve been through.”
Julian most recently anchored PM drive at former Lotus Hot AC KPLZ (Star 101.5)/Seattle until it flipped to Classic Country in April. His previous experience includes afternoons at KYLD (WiLD 94.9)/San Francisco, KZZP (104.7 Kiss FM)/Phoenix, Mornings & Nights at WBBM (B96)/Chicago, and WIHT (Hot 99.5)/Washington, DC. Julian also has extensive voice-tracking experience — at one point he was tracking up to eight stations plus weekends at KMVQ (99.7 NOW)/San Francisco.
“Personally, I think the standard aircheck is a thing of the past,” Julian noted. “Although the radio stuff is in there, I wanted to do and show more. It was made to transparently get a job, motivate others to keep going, and show that I’m empathetic to anyone who’s been through hard times. Finally, Julian clarified, “This is not an aircheck on video — it’s a get-to-know-me piece with some added layers. I wanted to do more, and share a little bit of who I am, packaged into something that was hopefully visually and sonically engaging. Regardless, I’m honored and appreciative to anyone who just presses ‘play.'”
