KVDU Captures Baton Rouge Vibe
• As iHeartMedia completes the move of Adult Hits KVDU (104.1 The Spot) from New Orleans to Baton Rouge, the station has been transformed into Adult R&B as 104-1 The Vibe, “Baton Rouge’s R&B & Back-In-The-Day Jams,” featuring songs from Michael Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, Anita Baker, Usher, etc.
The Vibe’s weekday lineup will be bookended with the syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show, and the Keith Sweat-hosted The Sweat Hotel at night, along with Bioncé Foxx of Urban AC sister WVAZ (V103)/Chicago in middays, and newly named Program Director Miss Monique in afternoon drive.
Bob Murphy, SVP of Programming for iHeart’s Louisiana/Arkansas markets, said, “This is an exciting and long overdue opportunity for Baton Rouge listeners to wake up with the nationally successful Steve Harvey Morning Show and end their day with The Sweat Hotel. Our EVP of Programming Angela Watson-Charlesbrings a wealth of incredible programming success to this launch, and we’re excited to bring the multi-talented Miss Monique to Baton Rouge as Program Director and PM drive host of 104-1 The Vibe.”
Baton Rouge Market President Aimee Lavespere adds, “The launch of 104-1 the Vibe addresses demand for these marquis talents in Baton Rouge. We are committed to expanding listener and advertiser options with meaningful and connected content across our six local iHeartMedia brands.” In order to properly warm up, 104-1 The Vibe will roll commercial-free for the next three weeks.
