iHeartMedia Realigns Markets Group
• iHeartMedia announced a realignment of its Markets Group structure, adding two new Division Presidents under the leadership of Hartley Adkins — Houston Region President Eddie Martiny (left) has been elevated to Division President, and will now oversee Houston, Dallas, Austin & San Antonio, TX, along with New Orleans and Baton Rouge, LA, while John Karpinski (right), previously EVP of Strategic Partnerships, has been upped to Division President overseeing Charlotte, Greensboro & Raleigh, NC, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Memphis, Louisville/Lexington, KY, while continuing to lead the company’s Market Tier 3 Automotive business.
It was concurrently announced that 30-year company veteran Tom McConnell is retiring as Region President, but will remain in a consulting role. In a staff memo, iHeartMedia CEO Bob Pittman and President/COO/CFO Rich Bressler said of McConnell, “Many of us have worked closely with Tom over the years; we truly appreciate his many contributions to our company and our communities during his wide variety of roles and we look forward to continuing our relationship going forward.”
