Remembering Jen Myers

• Our industry has suffered yet another tragic loss — Jen Myers, a.k.a. Jennifer Marie Farmer, former longtime morning host and Asst. Brand Manager of Audacy Hot AC KYKY (Y98)/St. Louis, passed away on October 24 after an eight-year battle with breast cancer. She was only 49 years old.

Myers started her radio career in her hometown of Buffalo, NY and spent two years at KSTZ/Des Moines, IA before joining Y98 in 2012, spending 16 years on the morning show until May 2021, when she moved to middays and was elevated to Asst. Brand Manager of Y98 and AC sister 102.5 KEZK.

A passage in Myers’ obituary reads, “Jen combined her love of words and passion for music into a 26-year career in radio at stations in Buffalo, Des Moines, and finally her adopted hometown of St. Louis. Jen was best known as a beloved morning radio host and music director at Y-98, a role she held for 15 years. Her voice was what St. Louis woke up to, and her candor and personal stories about infertility, parenting, and her cancer journey endeared her to an entire city. Everyone felt like her friend.”

A Y98 Facebook post in tribute to Myers reads, in part, “Jen had a 26-year career in radio, and we were lucky enough to have her at Y98 for 15 of them. She used her voice to connect to listeners by sharing her powerful stories about infertility, parenting, her cancer battle and many more of her personal endeavors… We are completely devastated by this loss but will hold onto all of the laughs and countless memories she made on air with us here at Y98. Forever family. We love you, Jen.”

Becky Domyan, SVP/Market Manager of Audacy St. Louis and Wichita shared her thoughts in this Instagram post: “We lost a beloved member of our radio family and community today. Jen was an absolute warrior, and used her time and energy to help others day in and day out; even if she wasn’t feeling her best. I am so honored that I was able to work with her, as her positive impact on so many was significant. She was continually selfless beyond measure, and was a shining bright light for anyone and everyone she came into contact with.”

• KYKY held an emotional on-air tribute to Myers on Thursday morning, while, across the street on Hubbard Adult Hits WARH (106.5 The Arch), morning host Courtney Landrum, who worked with Myers at KYKY for almost a decade, and Marty Linck, Brand Content Director of WARH & KSHE, who worked with Myers for eight years when he was OM/PD of KYKY, KEZK & KNOU, dedicated the Arch morning show to paying tribute to Myers in a demonstration of love and respect for their fallen friend.

Myers is survived by her husband, Ryan; children, Finn and Nora; parents, Paul and Peggy Belliotti; brother, Greg Belliotti (Nicole); brother-in-law, Justin Farmer (Becky); father-in-law, Greg Farmer(Connie); and four nieces and nephews.

In honor of Jen’s memory, her family will be hosting a public visitation at The Gathering Church in St. Louis on Monday, Oct. 28 from 4-7pm. The memorial service will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jen’s name to Pedal the Cause, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and Pink Ribbon Girls. For those who feel so inclined, a GoFundMe has been set up in the family’s name to help offset ongoing expenses for Ryan, Finn, and Nora.
