Lara Dua-Swartz Named PD, WUGA/Athens, GA
• Lara Dua-Swartz is the newly named Program Director and Content Strategist for the University of Georgia’s NPR affiliate WUGA (91.7 & 94.5)/Athens, GA. She has been working with the station as an On-Air Host and Digital Content Producer for the last year and half while also tracking middays for Cox Media Group AC WGMG (Magic 102.1) across town.
Prior to moving to Athens, Dua-Swartz worked in New York City at the now former ALT 92.3, WPLJ and 92.3 NOW (as “Lars“), and spent seven years at iHeartMedia Top 40 WIHT (HOT 99.5)/Washington, where she did late-nights and later, middays as “Vibegrrl.”
Commenting on her new position, Dua-Swartz said, “I’m so thrilled and beyond grateful for the opportunity to help WUGA expand its audience across Athens-Clarke County and Northeast Georgia. I have always longed for a chance to marry my skill sets in a way that will allow me to really give back to my community, and this position embodies that wholly.”
Dua-Swartz succeeds Martin Matheny, who exited WUGA in August after 12 years with the station.
