KSCS & KPLX Break $1.3 Million Barrier
• Cumulus Media’s DFW Country duo, KSCS (New Country 96.3) and KPLX (99-5 The Wolf) joined forces to present the Cook Children’s Radiothon, an annual two-day on-air fundraiser for Cook Children’s, a Children’s Miracle Network hospital in Fort Worth. On Thursday and Friday, Dec. 5 & 6, on-air talent from both stations shared their mics and simulcast the 26-hour live broadcast from Cook Children’s, raising $1,327,708.92 from the stations’ generous listeners and community partners. Over the course of their 11-year partnership, Cumulus Media Dallas/Fort Worth has raised more than $5,785,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
Mike Preston, Program Director of KSCS & KPLX, said, “After several years doing the radiothon from our studios, our triumphant return to the hospital made our Cook Children’s Radiothon even better this year! Our team did an amazing job telling the story of the patients, families, doctors and staff of this amazing place of healing and our listeners once again stepped up with not only love, but real support!”
