Eagan To Program WTMX & WTBC/Chicago
• Hubbard Chicago Market President Keith Lawless just announced the selection of Chris Eagan as Vice President of Brand and Content for WTMX (101.9 THE MIX) and WTBC (Throwback 100.3).
Eagan comes to Hubbard Radio Chicago from Cox Media Group, where he most recently served as SVP of Audience & Programming, overseeing the company’s on-air and digital content strategy. Before that, Eagan was Operations Director for CMG’s Atlanta stations, PD of AC WSB-FM (B98.5), Classic Rock WSRV (The River), and AC/Hot AC Format Leader. A graduate of Boston’s Emerson College, Eagan’s early career notably included a seven-year stint as PD of the late WFNX/Boston. He joined CMG in 2008 as PD of WEZN (Star 99.9)/Bridgeport, CT, and in 2012, relocated to Atlanta as Director of Branding & Programming for B98.5 and The River and corporate AC/Hot AC Format Leader.
“I’ve had the opportunity and pleasure of working with Chris for years,” Lawless said. “I’m proud to work alongside him again as he joins our Hubbard Chicago leadership team and the brilliant content teams at Throwback and The Mix. I have every confidence that through Chris’s experience, knowledge, and leadership, Hubbard Chicago will reach new levels of success. Welcome to Chicago, Chris, Amy, and Sean!”
“I couldn’t be more honored to join the Hubbard Chicago Team,” said Eagan. “I look forward to creating top-tier content in one of the greatest cities in the world. Thanks to Keith Lawless, Ginny Hubbard, Dave Bestler, and Greg Strassell for this amazing opportunity.”
Eagan will assume his new role effective January 1, succeeding current VP of Brand and Content Jimmy Steal, who will transition into his new consultancy as announced on July 9, 2024, adding Hubbard to his other client, Power 106/Los Angeles. Steal can be reached at jimmy@stealmediallc.com.
