• iHeartMedia has named Chris Berry as Senior Vice President of News, Talk and Sports Programming. Berry will oversee the company’s News, Talk and Sports brands, providing strategic guidance for iHeartMedia’s spoken word formats while connecting key advertisers with the company’s News, Talk and Sports audiences. He will continue to serve as SVP/GM for NBC News Radio and 24/7 News Network.
Berry began his career as a news producer at WHBQ-TV/Memphis before joining CBS Radio in Los Angeles in 1982. His extensive background also includes overseeing news programming at radio stations in Los Angeles, Washington, DC and Chicago and serving as VP/GM of News for ABC News Radio in New York City. Berry joined 24/7 News Network as SVP/GM in March 2011 and has spearheaded NBC News Radio’s editorial content since 24/7 News began syndicating the network in July 2016.
• Jeff Wade is leaving New England and venturing deep into Ravens country, as he’s named News Director of Hearst’s WBAL Newsradio 1090, effective June 5. Wade currently serves as Director of News and Talk Programming for Binnie Media, based in Concord, NH. His previous stops include News and Talk Specialist with Saga Communications and News Director at Saga’s WGAN/Portland, ME.
