Vermont’s VOX AM/FM Digital Names Boomer OM

• VOX AM FM Digital in scenic Vermont welcomes major market veteran Christopher “Boomer” Layfield as Operations Manager of the seven-brand group serving both banks of Lake Champlain in Burlington, VT and Plattsburgh, NY, as well as a slice of Canada, including Montreal. Layfield will also serve as PD of Country WCPV (101.3 The Wolf) and do afternoon drive on AC WEZF (Star 92.9), with a start date of Feb. 14.

Layfield most recently served as OM of Cumulus in Indianapolis and PD of Country WFMS. He previously spent seven years as PD of iHeartMedia Top 40 WHQC/Charlotte. Earlier stops include seven years with iHeart Top 40 KSLZ (Z107.7)/St. Louis and PD of WRVQ (Q94)/Richmond. Earlier on-air stints include KHTS (Channel 933)/San Diego, WKBQ/St. Louis, WYHY/WRVW/Nashville and WZJZ/Ft. Myers, FL. More recently he’s been filling in on mornings on Hubbard Country 92.3 WIL/St. Louis.
