Matt Pinfield On The Comeback Trail
• After an extended period of radio silence — and a high level of anxious uncertainty, we are pleased beyond all measure to share this welcome communication from the legendary Matt Pinfield, who is hard at work on his road to recovery after suffering what was described as a “massive stroke” on January 6.
On Thursday afternoon we received this heartfelt message from Matt, which we were asked to share with all of his radio friends: “I am so grateful to be alive. The general consensus was that I wasn’t going to make it — and here I am! I’m overwhelmed and humbled by your love. I’m beyond grateful for those that have stuck by me. My radio family includes my listeners, my dear friends and the wonderful radio companies that continue to support me. It means the world to me.”
Pinfield added, “I cannot wait to get back to hosting Flashback, and to KLOS and The SoCal Sound. We were told I might not speak or walk again — my voice is back, I’m doing five hours of physical therapy a day and my walking continues to improve. There is nothing like my radio community. I love you all.” [Special thanks to Heather Cohen]
