Feel Better, Chaz Malibu!

• Sending our best wishes for a speedy recovery to Chaz Malibu, popular longtime morning personality on American General Media Classic Hits KABG (BIG 98.5)/Albuquerque, who is recovering from what was described as “a major heart attack” last weekend. The Albuquerque native subsequently underwent surgery, and thankfully, he is expected to make a full recovery.

A statement from Interim PD Scott Matthews reads, in part, “Chaz will be out for a while as he rests and recovers, but he wanted Big listeners to know what’s going on. We look forward to getting Chaz back on the air when he’s ready, and he has the full support of his family here at Big 98.5.”

In the interim, Big 98.5 afternoon personality “Boston Bobby” Jones will fill in for Chaz on the morning show, while veteran talent Barry McKay moves up from evenings to cover afternoons.

The statement concludes: “Chaz, we love you, and can’t wait to see you up and smiling soon.”
