• KVIT-FM (88.7 The Pulse), the student-run radio station at East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) in Mesa, AZ is hosting its first annual Rock-A-Thon — a 48-hour live broadcast fundraiser — starting at 3pm this Friday, May 2, and running through 3pm Sunday, May 4.

The non-stop broadcast promises a fun, high-energy weekend filled with live music, special guests, and on-air student talent. The fun continues Sunday from 3-6pm with the “Encore After Party,” featuring live in-studio performances from student and local musical acts. Funds raised will help upgrade aging equipment, maintain station operations, and expand educational opportunities for students in broadcasting and audio production.

“The Rock-A-Thon is a celebration of student creativity and a call to support hands-on media education,” said Michael Mallace, General Manager of 88.7 The Pulse (below, foreground, with the Pulse AM Student crew). “It’s fun, fast-paced, and community-driven — and it truly shows what our students are capable of.”
