Bill Gamble On The Loose

• RAMP has learned that veteran programmer Bill Gamble has exited Mid-West Family South Bend, IN, as his position as VP of Content has been eliminated. Gamble remarked, “I’ve been with Mid-West Family since they purchased the stations in 2016, and I want to thank them for the many opportunities they’ve given me, from VP of Programming to General manager of the cluster. I’ve had the chance to work with some very talented, great people. I’m proud of the team we assembled, and I know that they’ll continue to thrive and succeed for Mid-West Family.”

Most of Gamble’s career was spent in Chicago, where he notably served as Operations Manager for NBC Radio’s WMAQ, and was later named Regional VP of Programming for Emmis and PD of WKQX (Q101). Gamble went on to spend eight years with ABC Radio as PD of WZZN and WXCD/Chicago, before joining CBS Radio, first as Director of Ops & New Media for Denver, followed by a return to Chicago as PD of WUSN & WCFS. After a three-year run as Director of Digital Media for WSBT-TV/South Bend, Gamble joined Mid-West Family in 2016 as VP of Content and GM of the company’s South Bend properties.

“And just to cut off any rumors before they start — I’m not retiring,” Gamble said. “Anyone who knows me knows I have just about zero hobbies. I intend to keep working because I love what I do (and I’m great at it). You can reach me at gamblechicago@yahoo.com.”
