Mason Joins MediaCo As VP/GM, Local Markets
• MediaCo Holding Inc. announced the appointment of Maire Mason as Vice President and General Manager of Local MediaCo Markets, with oversight of MediaCo’s local radio and television operations across New York City, Chicago, and Denver, with responsibility for marquee brands including WQHT (HOT 97), WBLS, Luna 107.5 (WBLS-HD2), La Buena (WQHT-HD2), and EstrellaTV’s WMBC-TV in the New York Tri-state area. MediaCo expects Mason’s responsibilities to expand to additional markets as the company accelerates national growth.
Mason joins MediaCo from Spanish Broadcasting System, where for the past eight years she has served as VP/GM for the New York market, leading WSKQ (Mega 97.9) and WPAT (93.1 Amor), adding oversight of WLEY (La Ley 107.9)/Chicago in Oct. 2022.
Mason’s extensive New York radio history includes a 20-year run with CBS Radio New York as VP/GM ofWCBS-FM, WXRK & WNEW. From 2010-2012, she served as Director of Sales for Univision New York. In 2012, while serving as Director of Sales & Marketing for Merlin Media, Mason launched the first ever FM News station, WEMP-FM, and in 2013 she was VP/GM of Cumulus Media’s NY Country outlet WNSH (NASH-FM 94.7).
