Executive Action At Shore Fire Media

• Entertainment marketing and content production company Dolphin announced the elevation of Marilyn Laverty from CEO to Chairman of its subsidiary, creative communications firm Shore Fire Media.

Laverty (left), who founded Shore Fire in 1990, will focus on its strategic growth and advise its executive team while continuing to play a pivotal role in representing longtime clients Bruce Springsteen and Cyndi Lauper. Holding dual titles, she will also drive collaboration across Dolphin’s portfolio of businesses as a senior advisor to Dolphin.

“Growing Shore Fire into a renowned industry leader with expertise across many facets of art and culture, and nurturing an executive team that is unsurpassed in talent, what Marilyn has been able to accomplish with the company over the past few decades is nothing short of remarkable,” said Dolphin CEO Bill O’Dowd. “There’s a good reason she’s received so many industry accolades, but I also can’t credit her enough for championing a true spirit of collaboration between the Dolphin companies. Her efforts to foster community and identify the many ways that our subsidiaries can best support one another and our clients have proven invaluable to our business model and success, and I’m excited about continuing that work together.”

“Shore Fire has grown tremendously since joining Dolphin, and my role has naturally evolved as a result,” said Laverty. “As we continue to grow our team and expand our services and roster into new areas, I look forward to ensuring that our next generation of leaders is set up for ongoing success — as well as exploring more opportunities for us to collaborate creatively with our sister companies under the Dolphin umbrella. Adaptability and community have always been hallmarks of our company. At this point in my career, that is how I can best foster an environment for fresh ideas to flourish — propelling the company even further.” [Laverty Photo Credit: Meredith Jenks]

• On the heels of Laverty’s elevation, Shore Fire Media announced the appointment of Angela Barkan as its new CEO. Barkan (left), who most recently served as a Senior Vice President in several business development and marketing roles at BMG will now run Shore Fire’s day-to-day operations and new revenue strategy from the company’s New York City HQ, reporting to Dolphin CEO Bill O’Dowd and Shore Fire founder and former CEO Marilyn Laverty.

“We are thrilled to welcome Angela as our new CEO,” said Laverty. “She is a skilled team leader who will be able to encourage and support our uniquely strong executive team of presidents and staff — which have defined our success over the years. Angela has a proven track record of leadership in key roles at major and independent record labels, as well as a great command of emerging technologies and media.”

“Shore Fire has long set the standard for excellence in entertainment communications,” said Barkan. “Having worked closely with the firm as a client for many years, I have seen firsthand what makes it best-in-class. It’s an honor to build upon the remarkable foundation Marilyn created. I also look forward to working with Bill, Marilyn and the broader Dolphin ecosystem to drive new opportunities for collaboration and growth across the supergroup.”

“Angela is a truly impressive executive, and I look forward to the perspectives she’ll bring to Shore Fire,” added O’Dowd. She has the character, the creative and strategic intellect, and the experience to bring tremendous value to the company, its staff and its clients.” [Barkan Photo Credit: Chia Messina]
