Baxter In Orbit Over SXM Gig

• A genteel tip of our tea cup to Gene “Bean” Baxter, former longtime co-host of the legendary Kevin & Bean morning show on the World Famous KROQ/Los Angeles, who has been granted his (semi) boyhood dream to host a new show on SiriusXM’s Lithium (Channel 34), the service’s ’90s Grunge & Alt Rock stream.

Bean’s new show will air Sundays from noon-6pm ET / 9am-3pm PT on Channel 34, starting March 29. Episodes will also be available to stream later via the SiriusXM app.

Baxter, who was inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2015 and the Radio Hall of Fame in 2019, relocated back to his native UK in late 2019 after retiring from KROQ, and remains plenty active behind the mic — he has hosted the A Cup Of Tea And A Chat podcast on Patreon with his former KROQ colleague Allie Mac Kay three times a week since October 2020, as they close in on their 800th episode! Baxter also appears regularly on CountryLine Radio in London as a part-timer and swing shift jock.

“I was a Day One subscriber to SiriusXM, and it has been a dream of mine ever since to be a part of the amazing talent lineup here,” Baxter said. “There are tens of thousands of satellites circling the Earth, but ours is definitely the coolest. What a thrill this is!”
