Now Spinning: Vinyl Radio!

This 120‑hour special event leads directly into Vinylthon, the popular annual global celebration of radio and records happening on April 18 & 19, organized by the non‑profit College Radio Foundation.
WVYL will air one‑hour shows from college, community, and commercial broadcasters around the world, plus programs that spotlight vinyl and other specialty content — created and hosted by real people, not algorithms. The launch show will feature legendary broadcaster John Records Landecker, who will also receive the first‑ever Vinylthon Legend Award during the broadcast.
“This is human radio in its purest form, with real people creating shows with care and intention for listeners around the world,” said Dr. Rob Quicke, founder of Vinylthon and director of the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Marshall University. “WVYL is a celebration of everything that makes radio special — and a way for today’s broadcasters and listeners to invest in the next generation. Please donate and support our efforts!”
All donations to WVYL support the College Radio Foundation’s “Fueling Radio’s Future” campaign and its Next Step Radio scholarships, which help students who need financial assistance to continue their radio education and careers.
