Will Calder Named OM, Beasley Tampa

• Beasley Media Group is pleased to acquire the talents of major market veteran Will Calder as the newly named Operations Manager of the company’s Tampa radio group — Rhythmic WLLD (WiLD 94.9), Country 99.5 WQYK, Classic Hits WRBQ (Q105), Latin Pop WYUU (92.5 Maxima), and Sports-Talk WJBR-AM 1010 (Florida Alumni Radio). He succeeds Rick Thomas, who recently left the company to pursue his next chapter.

No stranger to the unique vibe of Florida radio, Calder was most recently Director of Programming and Operations for Audacy Classic Hip Hop WPOW (Power 96)/Miami (his second stint there) and Brand Manager of Hot AC WOMX (Mix 105.1)/Orlando. Calder also has previous experience in the Tampa market, thanks to an earlier stint as Director of Branding and Programming for Cox Media Group Top 40 WPOI (Hot 101.5)/Tampa and sister WPYO (Power 95.3)/Orlando until that later station was sold.

“Will is an outstanding programmer and leader with a proven track record of building great brands, developing talent, and driving results,” said Justin Chase, Beasley Chief Content Officer. “Having previously worked in the Tampa market, he understands both our audience and our opportunity. His passion, creativity, and deep industry experience make him a tremendous addition to our team, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to Beasley.”

Calder began his radio career in 2001 at former Chicago-area Dance trimulcast WKIE/WKIF/WDEK (Energy 92.7 & 5). He later served as Production Coordinator for Entercom Milwaukee and Production Director/Asst. MD and on-air personality at the former WXRK (92.3 Now)/New York.

“Few people understand Florida radio as well as Will does,” said Ron deCastro, VP/Market Manager of Beasley Media Group Tampa. “His track record of building successful brands, leading high-performing teams, and connecting with audiences makes him a tremendous addition to our leadership team. We’re excited about the future and confident he’ll help take our cluster to the next level.”

“I’m excited to join Beasley Media Group and return to the Tampa market,” said Calder. “This cluster has strong legacy brands, talented people, and real local momentum. I’m looking forward to working with the team to build on what’s already working, continue growing these brands, and create great content and experiences for our listeners and partners.”
