Tee Gentry Wraps Up An Amazing Career

• Beasley Media Group announced the July 31 retirement of Tee Gentry, VP of Brand Strategies and Operations Manager for the company’s Augusta, GA radio group, and PD/afternoon talent for WKXC (Kicks 99), with oversight of WKML/Fayetteville, concluding a distinguished 30-year career with Beasley that spanned multiple markets and leadership positions. Post-retirement, Gentry will continue to work with the Augusta cluster in a consulting capacity.

As part of the transition, Kicks 99 midday talent Chris O’Kelley will serve as interim PD, while morning co-host Cody will expand her on-air responsibilities by taking over Gentry’s former afternoon drive.

“Tee Gentry’s commitment to Beasley Media Group, our stations and the communities he has served over the past 30 years has been nothing short of exceptional,” said AJ Lurie, VP/Market Manager of Beasley Augusta. “His leadership, passion for country radio and dedication to mentoring talent have left a lasting impact on our team and our listeners. We are incredibly grateful that, while Tee is retiring from his full-time role, he will continue to share his experience and insight as a consultant, helping guide our programming strategy, supporting Guitar Pull and strengthening our community relationships during this transition. We also look forward to Chris O’Kelley leading Kicks 99 on an interim basis while Cody steps into afternoons. Together, they bring tremendous experience, energy and familiarity that will ensure continued success for the station.”

The company will announce permanent programming leadership plans for Kicks 99 at a later date. Gentry can now be reached at teegentry@gmail.com.
