Bob’s Back To WPOC, Adds WMZQ/DC

• After an unplanned two-month hiatus, iHeartMedia announced the welcome return of Bob Delmont to reclaim his former longtime midday show on Country 93.1 WPOC/Baltimore, and with the addition of 7-midnight on sister 98.7 WMZQ/Washington.

A familiar voice to Country radio listeners throughout the region, Delmont spent the past 27 years as WPOC’s midday host until late June, when he was one of many affected by iHeart’s round of restructuring. And now…. “Bob’s back!” exclaimed Jeff Kapugi, Region SVP of Programming. “He’s one of the best we have, and we are lucky to have him on our DC/Baltimore team!”

A Pittsburgh native, Delmont began his radio career working overnights at WMTZ (The Mountain) in Johnstown, PA, before returning to Pittsburgh to host evenings on WDSY (Y108) from 1994 to 1999, when he joined WPOC and went on to become a longtime fixture in Baltimore Country radio.

“I can’t tell you how excited I am to be working at the mighty 98.7 WMZQ on the shift where it all began for me,” said Delmont. “I get to come back working with the people that I know, and some I get to know better, all while still being part of WPOC on the same shift I’ve spent almost all of my career.
