News Updates At Lotus Seattle
• Lotus Seattle announced that Jeff Pohjola has been named Director of News & Programming for KNWN (Northwest Newsradio 97.7 FM/AM 1000), effective immediately. The company also unveiled updated weekday programming for Northwest Newsradio and Conservative Talk 570 KVI, beginning Monday, Oct. 5. Pohjola had been handling the position on an interim basis for the past four months, and this makes it official.
“Jeff’s experience, editorial judgment and deep understanding of the Seattle market make him the right person to lead Northwest Newsradio’s news and programming,” said Jeff Connell, Director of Operations & Brand for Lotus Seattle. “He will be instrumental as we continue to evolve our programming while maintaining our strong commitment to local journalism.”
Northwest Newsradio’s weekday midday schedule will feature Bloomberg’s Balance of Power at 10am, Bloomberg Businessweek Daily at 11am, and The Ramsey Show from noon-2pm.
As part of the updated schedule, Scott Carty will join Aaron Wright during afternoon drive as Eric Heintz moves into the role of Morning Editor and Sports. Kevin Dodrill will expand his involvement with Northwest Newsradio as APD of KNWN AM/FM, in addition to his existing role as Program Director of KVI.
570 KVI will also introduce a new weekday lineup led by live, local conservative conversation each morning — The Ari Hoffman Show will move to weekdays from 6-9am, with Zach Wildfang returning as Executive Producer of KVI mornings while continuing his role as Digital Content Manager for the Seattle station group. Austin Smith is promoted to Production Director and while continuing as a Northwest Newsradio contributor. The rest of the 570 KVI weekday schedule looks like this — 9am-noon: Markley, Van Camp and Robbins • Noon-3pm: Dan Bongino • 3-6pm: Lars Larson • 6-9pm: Mark Levin • 9pm-midnight: Brian Kilmeade.
