McLaughlin Named GM, Fordham’s WFUV/NY

• Congrats to Rich McLaughlin, who has been formally named General Manager of Fordham University’s 90.7 WFUV/New York. McLaughlin, a two-time Fordham alumnus who first walked through WFUV’s doors as an undergraduate student, has served as the station’s Interim General Manager since July 2026.

The news was delivered in a staff memo from Ellen T. Fahey-Smith, Vice Provost for Administration, which reads, in part, “Rich brings a rare combination of deep industry expertise, creative vision, and genuine devotion to WFUV and Fordham. His track record as an innovative leader in public media and digital broadcasting makes him the perfect person to guide WFUV into its next chapter. We could not be more thrilled to welcome him into this role.”

McLaughlin brings 25 years of experience across public radio, digital streaming, and commercial broadcasting, including previous senior leadership roles at Amazon Music, iHeartMedia, and SiriusXM. Since returning to WFUV in June 2021 as Program Director — and later serving as Associate General Manager — he has helped lead the station to historic milestones, including reaching nearly 400,000 weekly regional listeners and surpassing $4 million in annual membership revenue for the first time.

“WFUV has been a cornerstone of my life since my college days, and I know firsthand how transformative this station is for students discovering their potential,” said McLaughlin, who holds a bachelor’s degree in communications (2001) and an Executive MBA (2010) from Fordham. “We have an incredible team, a passionately loyal community of listeners, and a vibrant connection to New York’s cultural fabric. I’m honored to lead WFUV as we continue championing music discovery, mentoring our students, and finding creative new ways to serve our community.”
