LaRoche Tees Up Career Change
After two and a half years in afternoon drive at CBS Radio Country WKIS (Kiss 99.9)/Miami, Brian LaRoche announced he’s leaving this Friday, September 29 to embark on an exciting new career adventure that allows him to pursue another of his passions: golf. In a staff email, LaRoche explained his decision, saying, “In a decision that surprised no one who knows me, I’ve decided to take my passion for the game of golf and turn it into a career! I’ve accepted a unique opportunity at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, doing something I’ve wanted to do since I was in high school.” He continued, “The last 2+ years working for WKIS has been an honor and I can’t thank you enough for the great times! It’s been an honor to be involved in events like the legendary Chili Cook-Off, Undercover Concerts, Stars & Guitars, and of course, the Kiss 99.9 Cares For Kids Radiothon benefiting Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.”
LaRoche landed in Miami in June 2015, coming from Alpha Media’s KBFF (Live 95.5) and KUPL (98.7 The Bull)/Portland, OR. His extensive resume also includes stops at WKSL/Jacksonville, WKQI/Detroit, WMTX/Tampa, WSTO/Evansville, IN, WNOU/Indianapolis and WJFX/Fort Wayne, IN. In closing, LaRoche added, “I won’t be relocating so we’ll still see each other out and about at concerts and events around town and I’m very much looking forward to that!”
Rob Morris, VP of Programming for CBS Radio Miami-Ft. Lauderdale-The Palm Beaches said, “We wish Brian well with this new endeavor and thank him for his contributions!” The search for LaRoche’s replacement has now begun and the opening is posted on the CBS Radio Careers Portal of Good Times (Ref#: 29374). For now, Kiss evening entertainer Dina B will handle afternoon drive.
