Selena Earns Hollywood Star
Meruelo Media’s KPWR (Power 106) & 93.5 KDAY/Los Angeles and Universal Music, proudly join the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to posthumously honor musical icon, Selena Quintanilla, “The Queen of Tejano Music,” with a well deserved (and long overdue) star on the world famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. Hollywood Chamber President/CEO and Walk of Fame emcee Leron Gubler, along with Selena’s family will be on hand when Selena’s is dedicated on Friday, November 3, at 6:30pm in front of the Capitol Records Tower at 1750 N. Vine Street in Hollywood.
“Before there was JLo, Shakira or Beyoncé… there was a transformative female artist called… Selena,” stated Otto Padron, President of Meruelo Media and the official sponsor of the tribute. He added, “Selena is one of the most influential music icons of the 20th century; her music, style and smile are timeless and now her star will grace our city forever.” Actress, producer, director (and Texas native) Eva Longoria will join Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti to jointly proclaim Friday, November 3, as “Selena Day” in the City of Los Angeles.
