Broadcasters Foundation Announces Awards
The Broadcasters Foundation of America has revealed the recipients of the 2017 Ward L. Quaal Leadership Awards and the Chairman’s Award. The Awards will be presented on Wednesday, April 26 at the Foundation’s annual breakfast at the ungodly early hour of 7am at the Encore Hotel Las Vegas during the NAB Show. The 2017 Ward L. Quaal Leadership Awards recipients are: Harry Jessell, Editor/co-Publisher, TVNewsCheck & NetNewsCheck; David Lougee, President, TEGNA Media; Diane Sutter, President & CEO, Shooting Star Broadcasting; John David, EVP of Radio, NAB; Scott Knight & the Knight Family, President/CEO, Knight Media Group and Larry Patrick, Managing Partner, Patrick Communications. The Leadership Awards are given annually by the Broadcasters Foundation in recognition of career contributions to the broadcast industry and the community at large, and are named in honor of iconic broadcaster Ward L. Quaal.
William Duhamel, President of Duhamel Broadcasting Enterprises, will also be honored with the 2017 Broadcasters Foundation of America Chairman’s Award for his numerous contributions to the broadcast industry and his community.
