Dolan Makes RI Radio & TV HOF
• UPDATED: Legendary broadcast executive Mitch Dolan, currently Chief Operating Officer of Great Lakes Media Corp. will be inducted into the Rhode Island Radio & TV Hall of Fame in Providence on April 30.
Dolan is probably best known and respected for his longtime leadership as President of the ABC Radio Station Group. Earlier in his career, Dolan worked at 630 WPRO and 92 PRO-FM/Providence, rising through the ranks to General Manager. During that time he was an instrumental leader as WPRO-AM converted to News-Talk as 92 PRO-FM continued to grow as one of the most successful Top 40 stations in the country. In 1990, ABC promoted Dolan and moved him to New York as General Manager of WPLJ, later adding oversight of company flagship, WABC-AM.
From 1999-2009, Dolan served as President of the ABC Radio Station Group. Before joining Great Lakes Media Corp. in 2019, Dolan was Principle of Audio Path, LLC and Chief Operating Officer, Radio & Outdoor for Times-Shamrock Communications.
Dolan is being honored with the Executive Award and will be inducted along with WPRO-FM PD/afternoon personality Davey Morris, former WJAR-TV anchor Frank Colletta, WJAR-TV and WLNE-TV weatherman John Ghiorse and former WPRI-TV anchor Karen Adams.
