‘Hall Of Famer’ Davey Morris!
• Cumulus Media is proud to announce that Davey Morris, Program Director of Top 40 WPRO (92 PRO-FM) and Rhythmic WWKX (Hot 106)/Providence will be inducted into the Rhode Island Radio and Television Hall of Fame next month.
Morris, a native of Warren, RI and a graduate of Rhode Island College has been a fixture in the hallways of PRO-FM since 1990, when he first got his foot in the door as a college intern. In March 1991 he was hired fulltime to do the overnight show. Since that time, Morris has been heard in every daypart on WPRO-FM, and is currently the longest-running afternoon drive personality in the history of the station. He was upped from APD/MD to the PD chair in early 2013. Morris is an advocate for animal rights, and supports Hasbro Children’s Hospital and the Rhode Island Foundation for Suicide Prevention, among other local charitable organizations.
Morris and his fellow Class of 2020 inductees — former longtime WPRO-AM/FM GM Mitch Dolan, former WJAR-TV anchor Frank Colletta, WJAR-TV and WLNE-TV weatherman John Ghiorse and former WPRI-TV anchor Karen Adams — will be honored at the 2020 Rhode Island Radio and Television Hall of Fame Annual Induction Dinner on April 30 at the Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick (Airport) in Warwick, RI.
