We’re Wicked Proud Of CCB
The Massachusetts Broadcasters Association held its annual meeting last week and handed out its “Sound Bites” Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting. We are pleased to report that our longtime friends at CCB Media of Cape Cod were honored in several key categories — Karen Blake and Ralphie Marino, hosts of The Karen & Ralphie Show on Hot AC WQRC (99.9 The Q) were named “Best Radio Personalities;” News Director Matt Pitta won an award for “Coverage of Breaking News” (Pilgrim Nuclear to Close), and in the wide, wide world of Sports, Matt McCarthy was honored for his feature Sports report on the Cape Cod Baseball League.
And there’s more — CCB Media Creative Director Steve Marcus was honored in the area of “Commercial Campaign” for Meet St. Pius for St. Pius X, and Operations Manager Wayne White won the first-ever “Above and Beyond Award” as a staff member who consistently over-performs expectations for the station and the community. “CCB Media is delighted to have earned this recognition for six of our colleagues and their work,” commented Beverly Tilden, CCB Media General Manager. “As a locally owned media company we are committed to delivering for our community and to have this recognition from our peers is truly rewarding. I’m particularly pleased the success came from numerous individuals demonstrating our focus on teamwork.” Pictured, clutching their hardware, (l-r): Matt Pitta, Ralphie Marino, Steve Marcus, Director of Programming Jerry McKenna, Matt McCarthy, Karen Blake, Wayne White and Bev Tilden.
