Taylor: ‘I Know It Was Him’

Described by courtroom observers as “defiant,” Taylor Swift” was the star attraction yesterday as she took the stand on the 4th day of the high profile Denver trial that centers around the accusations that former KYGO/Denver morning co-host David Mueller groped her inappropriately during a 2013 meet-and-greet. On the stand, under questioning by Mueller’s attorney, Gabriel McFarland, Swift said, “What Mr. Mueller did was, like I said, very intentional, and the location was very intentional. None of us expected this to happen. It had never happened before.” McFarland asked Swift if she was critical of her bodyguard, Greg Dent, in that he didn’t stop Mueller when the alleged grope happened. “No, I’m critical of your client for sticking his hand under my skirt and grabbing my bare ass,” Swift shot back.

McFarland asked Swift for her reaction when she learned Mueller had been terminated. She replied, “I didn’t have a reaction to a strange person I didn’t know losing his job… that was a product of his decisions, not mine. I’m not going to let you or your client make me feel like this is my fault.” Swift added, “I don’t know anything about Mr. Mueller. I don’t know him… I think what he did was despicable, horrifying and shocking.”

McFarland asked Swift if she was sure it was Mueller who grabbed her, to which she replied, “It happened to me. He had a handful of my ass. I know it was him. I didn’t need a picture.” McFarland continued to press, to which Swift replied, “You can ask me a million questions about it and I’m never going to say something different. I never have said anything different.”

KYGO VP/GM Bob Call testified that he made the decision to fire Mueller on June 4, 2013. “He, in our opinion, violated… our contract and created an embarrassing situation for our company, our clients… by virtue of touching Taylor’s rear end,” Call said, noting that he realized the alleged touching could have happened “incidentally or accidentally.” Call said one of the reasons for Mueller’s firing was that now infamous photograph, “with his hand in a place where people don’t put their hands during a meet-and-greet picture.” Call added, “It made no sense to me that Taylor would make such a claim.”
