Condolences: Gabe Baptiste
Industry veteran Gabe Baptiste died last week at the age of 64. Baptiste had been living in Ogallala, OK working remotely for RCS in the company’s Tech Support department and also produced videos for the RCS Marketing Department.
In a statement, Philippe Generali, President/CEO of RCS-Media Monitors said, “Gabe excelled at customer service and was praised by all who interacted with him. He was even recently promoted to do additional work for our marketing department where he produced stunning product videos for RCS and Media Monitors. He was a multi-talented man who was taken away too soon. His loss leaves a huge void in our team.” Generali told RAMP that Baptiste’s colleagues “are saddened and in shock with news of his passing.”
Before joining RCS in early 2015, Baptiste worked as a freelance TV producer as well as in program scheduling and operations for Telemundo in Miami and Los Angeles from 2005 to 2009. Baptiste also served two tours of duty as Director of Programming at MTV — from 1993-97 and again from 1999-2000. A longtime Conclave Board member, Gabe’s radio experience includes a stint as Director of Ops & Programming for KIBZ (The Blaze), KHAT & KKNB (The Planet)/Lincoln, NE in the early ’90s. Funeral details are forthcoming.
