Former SXM Exec Killed In Avalanche

• We were saddened to learn that former SiriusXM executive Kate Vitt, 43, is among the eight people who tragically lost their lives in that deadly avalanche that happened Tuesday in the rugged backcountry of Lake Tahoe’s Donner Summit. One other person remains missing and is presumed dead. Six people miraculously survived the ordeal.

According to KTVU (Fox 2)/San Francisco, 15 people were on a three-day ski trip with Blackbird Mountain Guides. The group was on the final day of the trip when they were trapped by an avalanche. Three of the four tour guides were among the dead. The New York Post has more details.

According to Vitt’s LinkedIn profile, she spent nearly five years with SiriusXM, rising to her most recent role as VP, Product Operations and Customer Success until leaving the company last year. She previously spent eight and a half years with in various roles with Pandora.
